Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using San Clemente Residents Directory. By using the reference, you accept them. If you disagree, please do not use it.

1. What This Website Is

San Clemente Residents Directory is a privately operated reference. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections concerning San Clemente and Orange County, California. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with any office, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions, including credit, employment, housing, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Neither its text nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report, and neither may be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. Links to Outside Sites

Government portals and outside services, including sponsored search tools, set their own terms and policies. San Clemente Residents Directory is not responsible for their content, availability, charges, or data practices.

5. No Warranties

The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Accuracy, completeness, currency, availability, or correct results from an outside portal are not promised.

6. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from this reference or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record reached through it.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the operators harmless from claims or demands, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is welcome; republishing full pages or copying material systematically is not.

9. Changes to These Terms

A revised version may be posted here. Continued use after the revision is posted means the updated terms are accepted.

10. Cutting Off Access

Access may be blocked or restricted for a user who violates these terms or abuses the reference, with or without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act is codified at Government Code §§7920.000 et seq.; California consumer privacy rights include Civil Code §1798.100 et seq. Those statutes govern the public custodians and covered businesses that hold linked records, not a transfer of their duties to this private reference.

12. Severability

If a provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
